Monday Photo - Buttons

It's my month to choose the weekly theme, and I began the month with "buttons." There have been some great posts already, so I'm feeling a little simple about mine!

Even though I have a LOT of old buttons (see below), I still buy button lots on eBay on occasion. I especially love to run a search on button lots, including the words "vintage" or "rhinestone." I won the bid on a lot in December, and found a couple of old ones that are really intriguing to me. Such as:
The button above is an iridescent soft yellow, very textured, quite large. I keep looking at it, wondering how I can use it - and I don't even like yellow! There was only one in the lot, so I'll have to feature it on just the right item.
And look at the HUGE red one, above! This reminds me of something Lolo would have had on her spring coat when I was a child. See the penny next to it - you can see how large it is. This, too, was the only one in the lot.
And then there's this pearly white one (above). Not only is it quite large around (compare to the penny), it's quite thick. And yes, it was the only one in that lot of buttons. I keep wondering if the seller held out on me!
I store a lot of the older buttons in glass jars on the shelf, sorted by color family. I especially like that jar of white ones on the bottom.

I should have known that your collection would be so beautifully displayed. It tickles me that so many of us have a stash of buttons, but yours is the prettiest I have seen so far.
...no... I am not going to sort my buttons... just... no... really, LOL!

I used to sort my button collection by colours into jars also but I no longer have it. Nowadays, it's just a small jar filled with plastic buttons for shirt repairs. I love how your buttons look on display and I also like the white button jar best.

On cold dark days when I am feeling really fed up, I go and play with my buttons. Sometimes you can feel the history in that button. You have a lovely collection :)

hahah....I knew after Jennifer mentioned about having buttons in glass jars...she would be envious....

I have so few in comparison...but, then, I don't even sew... why would I need any? Well, except for the ones off clothing I still wear and might need to repair... must keep a few....
