Photo A Day - 24

Stripping - wallpaper that is. Today's little job - see the remaining bit in the lower right corner? Pink and blue flowers on white "watered silk" background. Awful.
What do you think? Should we just leave the rustic, shabby wall? Maybe give it a protective glaze? Naw.... I have something else planned, though that could change tomorrow.

Not a fun job. My house is 100 years old and when I moved in there was awful wall paper in every room. I started stripping it and in one room there was 7 layers of the stuff. I eventually found that paint had never touched any of the walls in this house...they were all wallpaper!! The good news about that is that I never had to worry about any paint with lead in it. Eventually I made myself a music tape that I called, "music to strip wallpaper by" and I played it always when I was stripping. Helped keep the momentum up. I am so glad that thankless, messy job is long done and I do not envy you this job.

Actually, I really like that shabby ( think random) look. I would keep it in MY home (grin).

thats what I spent today doing, cutting wallpaper off the wall and bleaching it to get rid of the mold :/ not fun. Took over a month to get rid of the wallpaper in the flat before we moved in. We think the wallpaper had been there since the 50's :p it was horrible lol I think next time we want to change the de-core , we are painting :p

Stripping wallpaper has to be the worst job there is! Hats off to you for doing such a clean job -- when I did my kitchen I eventually gave up and just sanded everything relatively smooth before putting on some paint.
