Last night as I left my desk for the day, and headed toward the stairs to fix dinner, I spotted this young doe across the lower deck. That's the closest to the house we've seen them. She appeared to be grazing through the garden area. So...since she had three companions, we decided to go to the apple farm today and get bags of horse/deer apples to supplement what they've found in our garden!

Wait... if you feed the deer, aren't you encouraging them to return to your garden? Are they not eating up your plants like I hear they do in other places? Feeding the squirrels here doesn't keep them from eating all my pecans and tomatoes. I like wildlife; I just want them to follow my rules.

That is a cool picture Sue. It almost looks as though it knows you are looking at it.
Oh, they'll love that I'm sure.... and if they nibble a flower or four.... just to have them in your yard is pretty special....worth every plant I think.... I wouldn't mind.
